Terrain
This ride was our least favorite as far as climbing but one of our favorites as far as scenery. There were two challenging hills we had to climb before we made our descent into Ipoh. 2.5 miles (4 km) from the guesthouse you’ll climb 492 ft (150 m) over 4.5 miles (7.2 km). At around 11 miles (17.7 km) from the guesthouse, you’ll climb 928 ft (283 m) over 6 miles (9.7 km).
Accommodation
We couchsurfed in Ipoh for three nights.
Food
We made oatmeal at Father’s Guesthouse before heading to Ipoh. For lunch, we stopped on top of the mountain and ate oranges, corn, pringles and strawberries for 26 ringgit. We stopped for a few drinks at McDonalds while we waited to meet our couchsurfing host for 8.50 ringgit. For dinner our host took us out for ikan bakar (BBQ fish) at a local restaurant for 32 ringgit.
Costs
Three nights Couchsurfing, our meals, snacks and a trip to the movies cost us 237 ringgit. Altogether, we spent around $74.32 USD in Ipoh.
