vacation in washington
this post is long overdue, but i wanted to share some pictures from my recent trip to washington! it was great to spend a nice long weekend with my girlfriend, haley, after not seeing her since august! we spent two nights in seattle and drove all of the 101, checking out the olympic and cascade mountains. we stopped to camp at sol duc and spent a night in a cute little cabin on lake quinault in the middle of a giant cedar forest! nick was kind enough to call a friend from his hometown, olympia, and scrounged up some camping gear for our trip… thanks jennie!
we spent our first night in seattle and checked out pikes place fish market. it was rainy and cold as helllll but the market itself is pretty incredible. there are endless varieties of local seafood, fruits, vegetables and cheeses to choose from. we bought some fresh garlic asiago pasta, romanesco, herbs, raspberry pepper jelly, fresh goat cheese, and a sesame fennel baguette. a couple of bottles of wine and some fresh fruit and some homemade trail mix rounded out our food for the trip; then we hit the road heading north.
some of the sights:

it was nice to be able to cook together again! homemade pasta with garlic, onion, cilantro, oregano, parsley, and basil, sesame fennel baguette with a goat cheese and raspberry pepper jelly spread, and (several) glasses of wine. perfetto.
our cabin at lochaerie resort: (we stayed in the angeles cabin; it’s a perfect little getaway in a beautiful, peaceful spot)
aloha,
matt
